Eric got away for a mid-week climb of Mount Hood.

Welcome to the new and improved Bobrat website. We’ve reorganized and redesigned the site, and we’re planning to start posting updates here again. Stay tuned!

We haven’t gotten every last thing sorted out yet, so there’s still a bit of housekeeping to do. Please leave us a comment if you see something amiss.

UW Lab Rat

This summer Eric offered up our beloved boy as a University of Washington lab rat. I’m told no babies were harmed in the process, but the experience does make for hilarious photos.

[Eric explains: The electrode hats monitor brain activity in response to different kinds of stimuli. Look, I was on sabbatical with time to kill. Enrolling Sam in the control group of an important study on autism got me out of the house. Plus, they paid $20 per session -- and daddy needs beer money!]

Jill’s mom watched Sam for a day, so we escaped for our first real mountain adventure together since we’ve been parents. And it was awesome.

Spring Walks

It’s been an astonishingly nice spring this year and the three of us have done a lot of walking recently, but it’s mostly around the nearby neighborhoods — and it’s mostly gone un-photographed. Nevertheless, here are two of the more interesting walks we’ve taken:
